We used Dempster plumbing for a copper re-pipe in our house, and the main reason why we choose them was because of the fact that they actually came up with a solution on how to re-pipe the main line out without having to rip up the massive amount of concrete that covered most of our front yard. The other plumbers I contacted just looked at it and went, "wow that's a lot of concrete" and didn't even attempt to come up with a solution to the problem. As for the re-pipe itself, they did a wonderful job keeping our house clean and ensuring that the massive holes that needed to be cut in our walls were covered before they left for the night. The previous owners did a lot of DIY work around the house, and one of the worst things they did was when they fixed a leak//installed the bathtub in the hall bathroom they did a half-assed job and to make matters worse covered up the giant hole around the fixture with linoleum! Since we are planning on re-modeling the bathroom at some point, we didn't want to spend a lot of money getting that area fixed, and Bill helped us come up with a viable solution so that we could pass inspection. I love the work his drywaller did in patching up all the holes (which the other plumbers I contacted didn't include). Our walls are textured, and after everything was said and done, you couldn't even tell that parts of the wall were ripped up once. But with everything said, my favorite part about Dempster plumbing is probably the receptionist, Valerie. She was extremely patient with me as the house we purchased was a short sale and we got the estimate when we were told that we should be closing, but because of everything we had to wait almost two months between getting the estimate and actually scheduling the work.
I found Bill Dempster here on Yelp, after getting what I thought was an exorbitant quote for drainpipe repair from Go Go Rooter. Turns out I was right. You can see my review of them for the details. I wouldn't call them for plumbing, though. Call Bill instead.
I called Dempster Plumbing for a problem I had with my plumbing in my house. Bill was cooperative, friendly, and knew what he was talking about. I showed Bill what was going on and he knew the problem right away. He was very professional and saved me a lot of money. I even have his business card that i keep right on my refrigerator. Bill re-piped our house in San Jose all the way out to the water meter. I saw the quality of the work they performed all along the way and I was very impressed. You can't tell where they removed and put back a 25 foot strip of grass to get to the water main. Additionally we've had a long standing issues with stagnant water collecting under the house that several "experts" never could agree how to fix. It was Bill Dempster that immediately pinpoint the problem of a leaking sewer line. The problem is solved! Okay, I'm impressed! When it came to the owner's attention that I paid for driving time and so forth, the office contacted me. They sent me a check for $85 that shouldn't have been billed to me. Talk about making it right! Dempster Plumbing has earned my business for anything else I need, ever! I had always intended to use them again. Now, I for sure will. I appreciate a business that pays attention to business fundamentals, namely, customer satisfaction. Dempster Plumbing does the job for the price quoted and also looks out for it's customers after the fact. What more can you ask for?
We were very happy with Bill and his team. We recently had them do a whole house repipe and a whole bathroom remodel. They worked fast and were very professional. Sam and Val who did the tile were awesome! The only small issue was who installed the sink, so make sure you know what is not in the contract before you get started. We would use them again.
Bill was able to come within hours to bid on a sewer line replacement. This was a difficult job, as the sewer line was broken 60ft away from the house built on a hill. The breakage was underneath a retaining wall and a tree, as determined by another plumber, whose snake and machine had gotten stuck in it. The job would involve a lot of digging. As it turns out, there was a gas line nearby, so it had to be hand digging. Bill's crew was able to do the job for 40% of the bid of the first plumber that came in - and get their machine unstuck as well. The job was completed promptly. I will definitely call Bill again for other plumbing needs.
We had our copper repipe done through Dempster Plumbing. Very perfessional business. I had a few qoutes on pricing and these guy's topped the best pricing by far. Would highly recommend.
We recently bought a house and found that we needed to replace our sewer line and install two cleanouts.. I asked around but ended up relying on Yelp reviews. We got a couple of bids, and thought we could get the city to do it but the wait was 9 months! So we hired Dempster Plumbing. Bill Dempster and his cheerful crew showed up promptly at 9am and made short work of hand digging an enormous trench across the front yard, carefully digging around the tree roots. On the second day workers arrived again at 9 and had the line installed, tested and ready to be inspected by early afternoon. On the third day the city inspector came and signed off, saying they did a good job. They crew cleaned up after themselves, even trying to put the sod back over the sewer line and washing off our sidewalk and driveway. I'll hire them again if I need plumbing help. Bill's team is remodeling our bathroom for us. He has made many good suggestions and we are very happy to have found him. Highly recommend without any reservations.
We discovered a water pipe leak at our house about a week before Christmas and was in need of immediate help to fix the slab leak. Due to the small size of the leak and the fact that we are on a concrete slab, the locator was unable to locate the leak and provided us a few options, the best of which was to do a full repipe through the attic (of course it was also the most expensive... ouch!!). We got a few quotes from different plumbers and decided to go with Dempster Plumbing after evaluating the price, work included, and when they could get the job done. Bill and his crew came and were able to finish the job in four days, just in time for Christmas! Bill had to work on another job, so he wasn't personally there to do the work (he did come and inspect to make sure things were done right during and at the end of the job), but Eddie and the other guys did a good job with the repiping and installing new shower heads, valves, etc. Dempster Plumbing even offered to put in new bath/kitchen faucets and sinks for us for free if we got them the parts in time, so we ended up also replacing our bath/kitchen facets and the kitchen sink (love our new kitchen sink!). Once all the repiping was done, the drywall guy, Vincente, came on the third day afternoon and started patching things up. He came back the next day with his son to finish the texturing of the drywalls and stayed til like 10pm to finish everything. Now everything is back to normal! Fast forward one month, we noticed problems with our sewer line (talk about bad luck!) and called Dempster Plumbing again. Bill and his son came out and tried to help unclog our sewer line outside the house just today, but it was not a simple job as originally thought. It turned out that we have a broken pipe on the city side, so we are working to get the city to fix it. :( Bill and his crew and the office lady Valerie have been very nice and helpful throughout all these problems we had at the house. I highly recommend Dempster Plumbing if you ever have any plumbing needs!
I needed to replace my house main valve. First I got a free estimate for work. It sounded reasonable. Dempster fixed my main valve. 3-4 days later I noticed a small leak. I called dempster plumbing and complained about leak. They fixed leak by replacing part of old pipe with coper one. They fixed this for free even though it was not part of initial estimate!
I originally called Bill when the feed line to my hot water heater popped off in the middle of the night. He came the next day and quickly replaced both the input and output lines for a fair price. He also thought to check why the original line came undone and sure enough found that the water pressure in the house was way too high (around 100psi). He tried to adjust the existing pressure regulator, but it was shot. He then came back and installed a new regulator - all done quickly, correctly, and for a good price. When it was time to replace the main water line from the street to the house, the first person I called was Bill. Again, hey gave a good price to install 110 feet of 1" main line to the house - on a hill where it all has to be hand dug. He saw that it was going to be complicated to replace the part of the old system that feed through to the interior of the house so he came up with a way that we could route the new line under a deck and into the crawlspace where it connected to the interior line. Saved me a lot of hassle and money on that. His crew did this fairly large job in less than two days - they were quick, remembered all the details of where I wanted the hose bibs and stub outs for the landscaper, and even dropped in an extra PVC conduit for me so it would be easier to run irrigation wires to the irrigation stub-outs. Another great part - he's been pretty booked so said he could get to me in about 10 days, which was fine. Called me two days later to say he found some time and could start that morning. Bottom line - quality work, good crew, good price, trustworthy, reliable service.
Looked up plumber in San Jose and saw the great reviews for Dempster plumbing. Needed to replace a trap primer in a high rise condo unit (8th floor) and I was able to communicate with them via e-mail regarding the requirement and the following day got a call and had a new trap primer re-installed in less than an hour. Pricing was honest and hard earned.
Bill responded to my pressing call for help when my garbage disposal chopped up a baby food jar that I didn't know had fallen down the hatch. This happened the day before a party, and I wouldn't have survived the day without the disposal. He returned my call in less than an hour and was onsite and completed the repair only another hour after that. He was efficient, professional yet cordial and knowledgeable. I most definitely recommend him.
