Bill and his son came by on about five hours notice to help me move a natural gas pipe in the attic. I live in a 100 year old house and asked them to inspect everything to see what needed changing as long as they were here. These two guys were out for about an hour climbing around in basements, attics, etc. It turns out the pipe was disconnected, so no plumber was required to remove the pipe. At the end of it all they didn't want to charge me for their time. I insisted they take something. Free house calls on short notice. That's too good to be true.

They arrived, took 5 seconds to look under the sink and told me I needed a new garbage disposal and that it would cost $665.00. I was shocked, and said I needed to talk it over with my husband. We asked around for a good plumber, and a good friend said she uses Bill Dempster. We called Bill, and the next day had a leak free sink for $89.00. The garbage disposal was perfectly fine, all they had to do was reseal the drain and tighten a few things up. Thank you Dempster plumbing for being so honest and for your quality work. We discovered a water pipe leak at our house about a week before Christmas and was in need of immediate help to fix the slab leak. Due to the small size of the leak and the fact that we are on a concrete slab, the locator was unable to locate the leak and provided us a few options, the best of which was to do a full repipe through the attic (of course it was also the most expensive... ouch!!). We got a few quotes from different plumbers and decided to go with Dempster Plumbing after evaluating the price, work included, and when they could get the job done. Bill and his crew came and were able to finish the job in four days, just in time for Christmas! Bill had to work on another job, so he wasn't personally there to do the work (he did come and inspect to make sure things were done right during and at the end of the job), but Eddie and the other guys did a good job with the repiping and installing new shower heads, valves, etc. Dempster Plumbing even offered to put in new bath/kitchen faucets and sinks for us for free if we got them the parts in time, so we ended up also replacing our bath/kitchen facets and the kitchen sink (love our new kitchen sink!). Once all the repiping was done, the drywall guy, Vincente, came on the third day afternoon and started patching things up. He came back the next day with his son to finish the texturing of the drywalls and stayed til like 10pm to finish everything. Now everything is back to normal! Fast forward one month, we noticed problems with our sewer line (talk about bad luck!) and called Dempster Plumbing again. Bill and his son came out and tried to help unclog our sewer line outside the house just today, but it was not a simple job as originally thought. It turned out that we have a broken pipe on the city side, so we are working to get the city to fix it. :( Bill and his crew and the office lady Valerie have been very nice and helpful throughout all these problems we had at the house. I highly recommend Dempster Plumbing if you ever have any plumbing needs!
I have used Bill twice in the past. I am a homeowner of a single family home in the South Bay. I can only say great things about Bill. The first time, I had a ruptured pipe in the back-yard. Bill came out to give me a very fair quote. Although he was not the cheapest, he seemed the most honest and took the time to explain what he thought the problem was and how best to fix it. I had him work on the project, which included relaying some copper piping from the front of the house, through the garage, under the backyard concrete, and into the garden. His team completed the work within a single day. Needless to say, I was impressed with both the speed and quality of the work. Most recently, I had a leak under a very old sink which I attempted to fix on my own. After 2 days of work, I gave up and called Bill. I thought that the sink would have to be replaced or extensive work would need to be done costing me $100s of dollars. Bill took a look at it and said all I needed was some plumber's dope and sealed my leak within 5 minutes. He could have easily suggested otherwise - replaced my sink, etc and charged me several hundred dollars without me knowing any better. In the end, he only charged me $5 because that was all the cash I had in my pocket!!! If I ever have a plumbing problem in the future, I know who I will call. I would recommend Bill to anyone without hesitation!

I recently knocked my whole house down and rebuilt it from the ground up. The total square footage of the new house is about 3100 square feet which Bill Dempster & crew did every bit of plumbing work required (rough & finish). He is very knowledgeable and be it different brands of fixtures, instahot vs tank water heaters or even supply houses he provides good input as needed. Bill (owner) personally worked on the whole job and was there for every plumbing inspection to answer any questions that the city inspector had. Every single inspection passed the first time. I should also add that he clearly takes a lot of pride in his work and is quite confident that his work will pass any inspection the first time. As an owner builder this is very reassuring. Long story short, the guy is good and his prices are also good. I have referred him to a lot of people already and will continue to do so.
When my fiance and I purchased our first home we knew we needed to get the house repiped but we didn't have the first clue as to what was involved and who we could trust. After getting quotes and meeting with several of the major repipe companies we chose Dempster Plumbing. Not only did he give us an excellent price, but he took the time to explain each step along the way, which was very important to us. The crew was very courteous and respectful too. (I'm a customer service critique so this was very important to me) Bill was also very straight with us and told us everything that would be involved upfront - a huge step above the competition who tried to take advantage of us by 'forgetting' to mention things that would be involved and would add to the initial cost. Bill told us what was up right from the get go. In the end, the city inspector came to sign the permits off and we asked him what he thought of the repipe work that Bill and his crew did. Bill just completed a repiping job for me and the reviews are true! I completed a major renovation in 2003 on our house built in 1906. The house has some lath and plaster walls and in that renovation we were never immune from dust. On day one, Bill came in and entered walls to repipe to the shower faucets, when we arrived that evening the house was immaculate. If you care about clean, Bill is amazing. His son really does help and others who were part of the project were soft spoken professionals who approached their work like watchmakers - it's obvious that they are serious tradesman in the same class as plumbers I've brought in from the two top plumbing companies that serve Palo Alto. Bill did the work for a fixed price but when he ran into the gotchas that come with a 100 year house, he fixed it and didn't charge - I am not sure Bill wants that public but it was a breath of fresh air, it seemed as if he was working on his own house. The drywall tape and plaster (not sure what they call this step) was done by a subcontractor and he was professional, punctual and spotless as well - the guy should do museum restoration - I know that sounds like I am gushing but I am so happy to finally find a good plumber. Yelp came through again. Called Bill Dempster out for a quote on our 35 year old house that developed a leak behind the water heater. Pipes were rusted out and had to be replaced. Bill came out same day for quote and we agreed on a price for repair. Was very helpful pointing out trouble areas. Price was very good and his crew of 2 showed up when he said they would.
